Mary Seacole Awards
This is an award given to nurses, midwives and health visitors who have implemented a project or research that will improve the health of black and minority ethnic people. It was created in name of Mary Seacole, a Jamaican and Scottish nurse, who is celebrated for her bravery and nursing skills during the Crimean War (1853-1856). It is supported by the Royal College of Nursing, Royal College of Midwives, Unison and Unite and supported by NHS Employers.
